The second principle of Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” is:

Begin with the end in mind.

And that’s what I’m giving you now.

You’ve gotten the “Stock Your Treasure Chest” checklist, and you’ve seen all the financial documents you should be getting together in one place.

But where should you keep them?

A desk drawer or a plastic bin ain’t the place you want to trust your valuable money documents.

You want something that can withstand both fire and water.

Our family uses a SentrySafe Document Box.

It’s not light…weighing in at almost 40 pounds BEFORE you put anything in it.

But you aren’t going to tote it under your arm.  It’s solid to protect your precious stuff.

And getting this safe will be a constant reminder to keep working on stocking it with all the documents from the checklist.

So grab one now.  And remember to get some hanging file folders (because it doesn’t come with any)

Be Safe, Have Fun,

Darren Bayne
